Tiruvannamalai Stay
   (March 2023 - March 2025)

After successfully transferring the Central Bank account from Nashik to Tiru and changing the address on Aadhaar Card, i contacted a lawyer in Tiru (Mr Gandhi) for changing the name on Aadhaar Card. He set the process in motion with application to State Govt and advertisements in Tamil and English newspapers. 14th April being Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi's Nirvana day, in the evening Aksharmanmalai chanting was done by devotees in front of Bhagavan's Nirvana room in Sri Ramanashramam. Summer heat in April and May was particularly severe. In the May-end my friend Dr Amarnath Kulkarni of Hyderbad came and stayed in Sri Ramanashramam for few days and i did one Sunday Girivalam with him.
At the Chapati Bheeksha place, i met Vishnu Mj, who informed me about his stay in 'Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama' near Chandra Lingam; having never heard of such an ashrama, i decided to pay it a visit. On Sunday 4th June 2023, during my weekly Girivalam i visited the place and met Vishnu Mj. It was located almost touching the base of Aruanchala with forest starting just behind the ashrama; i was happy to visit the place. After waiting for 2 months for name change process, i received letter from TN State Govt. informing requirement of additional document proof for pre-monastic name! I had a digital copy of my 10th and 12th Std. marksheets, which i submitted.
During June-end Br. Jnanananda from Andhra Pradesh came and stayed in the room for sadhus (small room along the compound wall) in Lalitashrama; with him i did the Sunday Girivalam on 25th June 2023. On 28th early morning Ajay Khamkar arrived in Tiru with his wife, kids, and mother. His earlier couple of attempts to come to Tiru had not borne fruits, but this one succeeded. They stayed in the 'Ramana Towers' hotel near Sri Ramanashramam. On 30th June and 1st July, i went with Ajay and family to Chidambaram; had darshan of Nataraja Shiva temple and Kali Temple (Video). We also visited Vaitheeswaran Temple, which is about an hour's drive from Chidambaram and is famous for it's pond which cures diseases; it also has many Nadi Jyotish places.

On 4th July (Swami Vivekananda Nirvana Day), Ajay visited Lalitashrama and met Varalaxmi Amma; we saw couple of the bigger rooms, having double-beds, in the ashrama and Ajay proposed that i take one such room for life-time! He convinced me to make use of my funds in his Dhyeya Foundation and agreed to add some more, as his contribution, towards this. This ultimately did not materialize. On 5th July, Ajay and Family visited Lalitashrama (Video).

On 6th morning I started for SriSailam via Katpadi-Tirupati; my monk friends from Narmada were coming there and with them i was to visit SriSailam and Rameshwaram. We had a nice pilgrimage of these two sacred places. I returned to Tiru on 14th July morning with Swami Ganeshatmananda (Ritesh Mj), Swami Ishatattwananda (Atul Mj), and Swami Satyakamananda (Vishnu Mj) - all Ex-RKM Pune Math; two Brahmacharis who were with us in the pilgrimage went to Kanyakumari and then came to Tiru on 18th July. On 17th July morning we all monks (associated one way or other previously with Ramakrishna Mission) - Kumar Mj, Ritesh Mj, Vishnu Mj, Atul Mj, Phanish Mj, Praveen Mj, Br Gopichand - visited the main Arunachaleshwarar Temple in Tiru with a devotee who arranged for us special darshan from close quarters of the inner sanctum sactorum. Raju Karemore too had come to the temple that time during his morning Girivalam; he had come to Tiru about a week back for a month stay. On 19th July I went to Girivalam with Lokesh Mj (Swami Narottamananda) as he was leaving Tiru on the following day and wanted to do one Girivalam with me. Narmada friends visited Lalitashrama on 19th and liked the place (Video). Jayawant Bhosale (Bunty), my childhood friend, came to Tiru with his friend Ananda on 21st July; we met in Sri Ramanashramam and talked a lot on spiritual topics. On 22nd July early morning we went to Girivalam and we were joined by Narmada friend plus Amod Mj of Chennai Math (our old friend from RKM Pune days). After Girivalam, we all had mini-lunch in Ananda Ramana; then Bunty and Ananada came to Lalitashrama and to my room. They left for Bengaluru in the afternoon. In the evening i went to Raju Mj (Swami Ashutoshanandaji) place with Narmada friends and Amod Mj. On 23rd morning, Amod Mj, myself and Narmada friends made 'Pav-Bhaji' in Br Raghavendra's room and enjoyed having the feast! Amod Mj left to Chennai in the evening after giving us all ice-cream party! Ritesh Mj, Atul Mj and Vishnu Mj left Tiru on 3rd August; Br Vinit left few days before them and Br Vijay decided to continue for a month more in Tiru.

My Prabuddha Bharata sewa continued with January 2024 special issue requiring more articles to be worked on. Meanwhile i closed my Central Bank account as my ICICI bank account was now fully functional. Sudhir Akarte came around 20th Aug 2023 with his friend; they stayed for few days in Sri Ramanashramam and later Sudhir stayed in Lalitashrama ground floor double-bed room (number 12) for a month.
The name change application done in April had not borne fruit, hence my lawyer Gandhi Sir suggested that i go personally to the Govt. Press at Virudhachalam and meet the officer. On 19th Sept 2023 I travelled there via Ulundurpet. The officer their checked all my original documents and though he didn't find birth-certificate or school leaving certificate as a proof for old name, he accepted the 10th Std. marksheet for the same. The form was filled again and Rs 415 chalan was re-paid in SBI branch of Virudhachalam. While returning from SBI branch i had lunch in a hotel near Bus Stand; Gandhi Sir was helping me through phone. I couldn't go to the Virudhachalam Shiva temple.
On 26th Sept Sudhir left Tiru. On 5th October Vishnu Mj came with Swami Dayasarananda and in the afternoon they had rice with Tomato rice paste at my room. In the evening we went to Chapati bheeksha place, Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashrama and Sheshadri Ashrama. They were staying at the Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama near Kanji Road bypass junction; on 6th morning we had morning bheeksha at Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashrama. They went to Kancheepuram on 7th Oct morning.

I celebrated Navaratri this year (2023) too, like previous year, with nine days Girivalam and Dussehra was celebrated on 24th Oct; witnessed the return of Yogambika to Matrubhuteshwar shrine in Sri Ramanashramam. Ankit stayed in Lalitashrama (number 12 - same room where Sudhir had stayed) for about three weeks and left to KFI Foundation, Chennai on 2nd Nov. Tiru was now preparing for Deepam and boundary walls from Sri Ramanashramam till the start of Perumbakkam road were painted with beautiful and vibrant pictures, paver blocks were added adjacent to Girivalam footpath. Last year i had not seen the Ratham of Sri Arunachaleshwarar being ceremonially pulled around the main temple, so this year witnessed this on the day before the main day during morning and evening (evening time Dilipji accompanied me; 23 Nov 2023). Main day (26 Nov 2023) morning 4 AM i went to main temple to see Bharani Deepam being lighted inside the temple but police were not allowing anyone inside without pass; these passes were given online beforehand first come first serve basis. So i bowed down from Raja Gopuram and did Deepam Girivalam (it was also Sunday - my weekly Girivalam day). In evening the 6 o'clock Deepam lighting i witnessed from Sri Ramanashramam (Video) just like previous year and came to Lalitashrama after that; lunch to all members of Lalitashrama was given in the morning which i had not taken as i had taken morning bheeksha at Sri Ramanashramam as per my Sunday Girivalam routine, so in the evening GomatiAmma gave me many dishes as evening bheeksha.

My name change efforts bore fruit and i recieved official Gazzette from TamiNadu state indicating the name change; this helped me change name on PAN card first and then on Aadhar Card. With that i could change name on ICICI Bank and also Driving License. Most of this happened around Deepam time (Dec first week 2023). All this effort of name change required lot of walking from room to offices, bank etc.; also daily walking from Lalitashrama to Sri Ramanashramam or Yogi Ramsuratkumar was bit exhausting. So i decided to purchase a two-wheeler, after lot of failed efforts to get a used Suzuki Access 125, as suggested by Ajay, i opted for New TVS Jupiter 110 cc (Rs 1L). The selected white color was not available in 125cc category and i wanted the vehicle on 28th December 2023 (Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi Jayanthi), so 110cc model was purchased. That day morning also met Maanikya Mj at Sri Ramanashramam; he was staying at Viviza Grande (about 6km from ashrama) at a devotees empty house and was using devotee's Royal Enfield Bullet! On 12th January 2024 he took me on Bullet to this house and we spent the afternoon in quiet atmosphere with good view of Arunachala.
Vasantha Amma came from UK, this time alone, and stayed near Sri Ramanashramam; we met couple of times and had brief satsang. Ankit and Sudhir came to Tiru and stayed near Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashrama; we used to meet regualrly and with Ankit i had many long sessions of satsangs. Ankit's few visits to Tiru in last one and half years resulted in we both having some very interesting and long discussions on spirituality, philosophy, religion, saints, society, sadhana etc. (Each discussion lasting for about 0.5 hrs to 3 hrs!) We discussed these topics at various times at many places such as:
* Terrace in front of my rented room behind Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashrama, the blue building!
* Adjacent-Back side of Kanchi Shankaracharya Math near the hillock
* Amphitheatre of Music Institute in front of Lalitashrama
* Horticulture Park at Arunachala base near Perumbakkam road starting point
* Annamalai Swami Samadhi back side empty rooms verandah
* Annamalai Swami Samadhi adjacent rooms rooftop
* A small temple courtyard inside Sri Arunachaleshwarar Temple campus
* Corner near Agasthyar Annadanam (2-3 times)
* On the shores of Lake Samudram with great view of Arunachala
* Around 2-3 kms back side of Varuna Lingam open fields (31st Dec 2023)
* Covered footpath opposite Essanya Lingam (31st December 2023)
* Sheshadri Swami Ashram campus benches
* ArunaGiri Children's Park near Draupadi Amman Temple
* Parashakti Temple near Simha Teertham
* Rooftop of Lalitashrama
* Behind Big Sai Baba temple near Surya Lingam on Girivalam Path
When Mahesh Kakade visited Tiru in the last week of January 2024, we both had satsangs mainly on Thakur, Maa, Swamiji, at Sheshadri Swami Ashram campus benches and breakfasts at Sheshadri Canteen and/or lunch at Ramanashramam or Yogi Ashramam or Ananda Ramana hotel!

On 21 Jan Sunday I did Girivalam with Onkar and Gayatri Paldhe who came just for couple of days for their first visit to Tiru; both being spiritual aspirants, it was wonderful talking to them. On 22nd January - the historic day for India as Sri Rama Temple in Ayodhya was ceremonially opened - Aai, Dada, Umesh and Anagha reached Tiru! And almost at the exact hour!! I had gone to ICICI bank for some work and watched the Pran Pratishtha ceremony by PM Modi online at Durgai Ammam Kovil (Khadag Tirtha). I went to Ramana Towers and met them, it was emotional moment for all of us as after Sannyasa this was our first meeting. They stayed till 25th morning and we could talk, visit Ramanashramam and Yogi Ashrama, do Girivalm in car, visit main temple, dine together, visit Lalitashrama and my room etc. By the grace of Arunachala-Ramana, despite Aai needing walker support for walking and wheelchair for moving around or while boarding flight etc., the trip was joyous success and very satisfactory. On 24th Jan when we took lunch at Aakash Inn and Sudhirji, Mahesh Kakade, and Vijay Mj (of RKM Delhi, who came for couple of days and stayed at Sri Ramanashramam and Yogi Ashrama), and Ankit joined us. Mahesh Kakade stayed at Nana Garu Ashrama being Lalitashrama.

Mahesh Kakade stayed at Nanagaru Ashrama for few days and we had satsangs almost daily; we talked a lot on Vedanta and the Holy Trio. With Ankit too had some more satsangs! On 20th Feb attended the Maheshwar Puja at Swami Ramanananda Saraswati Samadhi at AdiAnnamalai with Swami Nirvrittananda (Sudhindra Mj). On MahaShivaRatri night (8 March) did night Girivalam with thousands of devotees (Video1 and Video2). Swami Hrudayananda (Bhoominathan) was staying at Eswara Sannyasashrama on Perumbakkam Road after he left Lalitashrama. With him I met three Arunachala devotees from Erode, known to him from his Erode days, at Sri Ramanashramam and we discussed future plan of Sadhu-Niwas cum Old-Age home in Tiru. In coming weeks, with Hrudayananda i saw couple of land plots for the project. On Sunday 24th March i did Girivalam with Ananda Kulkarni of Belgavi; with him was his friend Vimal. Ananda's mother and aunt had sent spices for me! We had met during their October visit when Ananda, his son and daughter had done Sunday Girivalam with me and his mother, maternal aunt, and father were waiting at Sri Ramanashramam. They had visited Lalitashrama and met Varalaxmi Amma; they had liked the place very much.
On 31st March I moved to new room (no 19) on the same floor of Lalitashrama; the JioAirFiber Antenna moving process was completed on 1st April after 2-3 days delay by the Jio engineers. Ajay Khamkar sent a new 1.5 ton AC for the new room!

On April 4th i visited the land belonging to Om Pranavashrama Trust on Perumbakkam Road with Swami Sivaramananda, Swami Vishnuvardhanananda, and Swami Hrudayananda; there was a prospect of this land being given to us for building a sadhu-niwas. We discussed this couple of times at Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama Tiru and prepared a rought draft plan. On 19th April i voted for the Loksabha elections at nearby Arts College. Then on 4th June (Loksabha Election result announcement day!) we all visited the Om Pranavashrama at Courtallam near Tenkasi and discussed with the owner Mr Srinivasan. Finally this did not materialize.
Later in April Mahadev Mj (Swami Agocharananda) and Ritesh Mj (Swami Ganeshatmananda) came from Narmada bank and stayed for more than a month at Arunachala-Ramana Sadhana Kudeer of Senthil Vadivelji (free Sadhu-Niwas). My friend from C-DAC days, Sharad Mule came with his wife and did Girivalam on 6th May. During the entire May month occasionaly i interacted with Yogi Amal (a deaf and dumb Sadhaka of Tiru) through sign language, in order to prepare a request letter to Sri Ramanashramam to allow him re-entry inside the ashrama. He was banned from coming inside the ashrama due to some misunderstanding on part of security staff of the ashrama. Since he could not express his side of the story through words, he communicated the sequence of events and his side with sign languages. I wrote a two page appeal to the President of the Ashrama and with another sadhaka, Mahendra, handed over it to the President. After few days Yogi Amal was allowed the entry. On 21st May Sumit Mj, Santosh Mj, Amod Mj and couple of others came from RKM Chennai Math for a short visit and we all had lunch at Aakash Inn with Mahadev Mj, Ritesh Mj, Kumar Mj joining in. A young girl devotee (Drishti) of RKM Rajkot who wanted to dedicate life for Sadhana came to Tiru and again she gave sadhu-bhandara at Aakash Inn; Kumar Mj, Ritesh Mj, Vishnu Mj, Mahadev Mj, Phanish Mj were present. From 3-9 June I had brief pilgrimage trip to Tenkasi and Amritpuri. Ritesh Mj and Mahadev Mj left Tiru around 20th June.

On 17th July (Ashadhi Ekadashi Day) Ajay Khamkar started from Nashik with his son Aarav to come to Tiru; they reached Lalitashrama on 18th morning via Solapur-Chitradurag etc. Ajay brooght my books from Nashik to Tiru with him alongwith snacks, sweets from Aai and Kushal mother. Ajay and Aarav were in Tiru till 24th July 2024 morning; during this stay of six days, I went with Ajay and Aarav for lunch daily at different restaurants in Tiru, almost always around 2-3 PM! Gurupurnima (21st July) was on Sunday and hence my weekly Girivalam happnend with huge crowd of Arunachala devotees that day. With Ajay and land agent Sharmaji, I saw many pieces of lands and also saw some flats schemes coming up; in this search we also met the Chairman of Daga Developers, Mr. Naresh Chand. Also checked out the piece of land belonging to a Sadhu near Agasthayr Annadanam. On 23rd we went to local Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama and met Swami Sivaramanandaji there. He took us to Mr Ashok Kumar who had couple of pieces of lands on Perumbakkam Road. With this land-search, Ajay got the complete picture of construction, land, buidling development scene in Tiru.
On 5th August, i attended the annual Sadhu Bhandara at nearby Arunachala Ashrama on the occasion of Swami Sahajananda Samadhi Aradhana; many sadhus came including those staying in Arunachala-Ramana Sadhana Kudeer (Video). Also attended another Sadhu Bhandara and Maheshwar Puja at Essanya Jnana Desikar Math near Essanya Lingam; Swami Amarnath Puri had invited me and asked me to request few other sadhus. I invited Sudhindra Mj, Kumar Mj, Vishnu Mj, and Swami Premananda; Kumar Mj declined, rest of us went there on 16th August 2024 morning. We meditated near the cave of the great saint Sri Essanya Janan Desikar inside the Math; after the Puja etc. on the samadhi, Sadhu Bhandara happened in the Math dining hall and even medical assistance required by Sadhus was provided. Ankit came to Tiru on 17th and that day was Shani-Pradosh of Shravan month, hence with him i did evening Girivalam (Video). Ankit stayed till end of August and as usual we had lot of discussions. He went to Kaladi from Tiru.

7th September 2024 - Ganesh Chaturthi; 8th was Sunday and during my weekly Girivalam, obeserved the pandals of Ganesh festival, this year fewer pandals were there compared to last two years. At Lalitashrama new top floor construction had begun on our building and hence lot of construction work-related noise was going on; to avoid it, one day, on 10th Sept morning, i went to the quiet spot behing the big Sai Baba temple on Girivalam Path; at noon time i went to Nityagni Annadanam place nearby. Luckily there i saw a large number of sadhus attending Ganesh Puja! Later with food all were given sweet halwa!
On 11th September evening, i went with Vishnu Mj to meet Ravindra Mj (Swami Urukramananda) of RKM Omkareshwar, who had come to Sri Ramanashramam for couple of days with the devotee, Mr Trilochan Shashtri (in 2016, I had stayed for few days in the kutia of Mr Shastri at Satauli near Nainital); Sudhindra Mj and Sudhirji also met Ravindra Mj. We all then waited for Mr David Godman to come, as meeting between him and Ravindra Mj had been arranged by Mr Shashtri. When Mr Godman came we all sat on the side-steps of Matrubhuteshwar temple in Sri Ramanashramam and discussed about stories related to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi life and life of his disciples. Mr Shashtri and Ravindra Mj had proposed to Mr Godman that Ravindra Mj translate Mr. Godman's Bhagavan-related videos on Youtube in Hindi. Various points related to this were too discussed. On Septempber 12th evening we all went to Swami Ashutoshanandaji Mj's place; i went on my scooter, Praveen Mj came on the bike of Sudhirji while Vishnu Mj and Sudhindra Mj came in car with Ravindra Mj, Trilochan Shastri, and Mr Shivadas. We had good satsang with Ashutoshanandaji and clicked many pics on his terrace which has excellent view of Arunachala.

On 18th Sept morning I went to Eswara Sannyasashrama on Perumbakkam Road to meet Swami Samananda Giri of Maheshwar; Ritesh Mj had informed me about his arrival and had asked me to meet him. Yogeshji, one of the trustees of the Sannyasashrama, also came and we all had good satsang. Later they went to Tirukoilur. Next day on 19th Sept 2024 we all went to Rev Ashutoshanandaji Mj place where Swami Samananda was shown the books written by Ashutoshanandaji Mj on Hindu Dharama; we felt that those can be translated into Hindi and popularised in North India by Swami Samananada, as he was already actively involved in religous propagation work.
In October, during Navaratri, i completed the Girivalam on all nine days, thus continuing this practice into third consecutuve year (Navaratri beginning Sri Ramanasramam). Later i involved myself into the 'AllAboutVedanta' website UI update for mobile screen sizes as this ws pending for many years and even after asking multiple friends to get this going, nothing had happened. With my rudimentary php, html knowledge i somewhow managed to make the UI decent enough for mobile screen sizes. Periodic phone calls from Ankit and Srivani continued as also the monthly PB proofreading sewa. During an early November Sunday, Rajesh of Chennai (Ankit friend) met me at Sri Ramanashramam and accompanied me in Girivalam; we had lots of discussions, mainly on spirituality and sadhana. On 18th November, i recieved the complete nine volume set of 'Eternal Values for a Changing Society' from Advaita Ashrama; they sent it as i had done the sewa of proofreading of these books. My name is mentioned in the Preface of the books, for me, this was grace and blessings from my Gurudev Most Rev Swami Ranganathanandaji Mj.
Tamilnadu has Novemeber-December period as rainy season; in previous two years i had not seen much rain but 2024 Nov-Dec were filled with rains. On 30th November and 1st December Tiru was battered with heavy continuous rains and it casued damage to property and lives; this was due to Cyclone Fengal. Even just a day before Karthigai Maha Deepam (13th Dec) there were heavy rains. Dduring these period i created some videos for my YouTube channel on All About Vedanta, Scriptural verse (Arunachala Musings) and JnanaYoga of Swami Vivekananda. Also duing this period i worked on Self-publishing the two books i had written - Two Great Swans (compilation of articles on similarilits between teachings and lives of Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Ramana Maharshi) and Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi (manifesting Divine Feminine forms like Durga, Kali, Sita etc.) I tried Amazon KDP initailly but discovered that it did not cater to India and hence later also published book in India throug Pothi.com.

Mahadeepam was on 13th December 2024, Vishnu Mj had invited me and Shakti Mj (Swami Atmananda) to the Math adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath temple on Girivalam path near Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama. We started Girivalam in the morning and reached on route to the Math around 9.30 am, had tea-snacks there and went to Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama. Swami Ramananda, the founder of Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama and his monastic disciples were also there. We all went back to the Math around noon time; all Sadhus were ceremonially worshipped and given gifts. Then after Arati, sumptuous bhandara followed! In the afternoon we rested at Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama and at 6pm witnessed Maha Deepam from the terrace of the Ashrama. This year due to cloudy weather, Mahadeepam was not seen from some places in Tiru, we were fortunate to be at Ramakrishna Ashrama as we could see Deepam (Video1, Video2, Video3). On the third day of the Mahadeepam, the dieties in the main temple of Tiru (Sri Arunachaleswarar and Apitha Kuchambal) go for Girivalam, i had darshan of them on the way (Video). Sudhirji had completed almost three months stay at Tiru, he had in between visited Kanhangadh and participated in Vipassana course at Tiru; he was to leave Tiru on 26th. We did Girivalam on Holy Mother Tithi Puja (22 Dec 2024, Sunday).

Swami Bodheshwarananda (Anand Mj, Ex-RKM Pune) who was residing in an ashrama at Jabalpur came to Tiru on 3th January and on Sunday, 8th January we both did Girivalam, which was incidently Swami Saradanandaji Mj Tithi Puja; during Girivalam we also went to Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. On 7th January we had a small farewell function at Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama for Swami Vishnuvardhanananda (Vishnu Mj) who was heading to Kumbha and then to Narmada. He had invited 7-8 monks including Kumar Mj, Ramkumar Mj, Swami Hrudayananda, Rammurthy Mj; funds for the Sadhu Bhandara had been received couple of days back from SriVani without herself or myself being aware of Sadhu Bhandara function! So it was Arunachala grace that manifested through us, similarly the guest Swami - Swami Bodheshwarananda accepted the responsiility of cooking for all people (about 10-12 in number)! He soon left for Kanyakumari and Rameshwaram and came back on 20th. All Sadhus were given cloth and other useful items (Video). The Indian editions of my two books came out (Video)and i ordered one copy each from pothi.com.
On 21st January 2025 i did Girivalam on the occassion of Swami Vivekananda Tithi Puja, Swami Bodheshwarananda and Swami Ishtakripananda (Rammurthy Mj) accompanied me; we started at 10am and walked slowly discussing and eating! In the evening we went to Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama and attended Arati; at town we were joined by Swami Atmananda (Shakti Mj); we completed the Girivalam around 10pm!! On 24th evening i went with above three monks to Pavalkunru, Kamakshi Amma temple and PachaiAmman temple. On 25th, Refrigerator ordered by Ajay Khamkar arrived.

more to come...
